Dr. janet Riola Hale

 

Janet Riola Hale, recipient of the 2004 Presidential Award for Excellence in Service,  teaches Business Law and International Business Law at Texas State University and at the Berufsakademie in Mosbach, Germany. Dr. Hale earned a Bachelors of Arts degree in philosophy from the University of Arkansas where she was co-captain of the nationally ranked Division I swim team. She earned a Masters of Arts degree from Baylor University specializing in classical aesthetics and completed her Doctors of Jurisprudence at St. Mary’s School of Law.

Married to Chris A. Hale, a practicing attorney and rancher, they have four sons. Will, a graduate of SMU Dedman School of Law, is an Assistant District Attorney in Texas.   Pat, a pilot and a former cadet at the United States Air Force Academy, returned to civilian life to complete his degrees in Aviation Management and Spanish. Mike is a member of the nationally ranked equestrian team at St. Andrews in North Carolina and will earn a BBA in Accounting. Jack, the caboose, is a Midshipman at the United States Naval Academy where he serves as Plebe Company Commander and will have a tour of duty in submarines during summer training. 

Dr. Hale’s interests include flying as a private pilot, jumping horses, playing the accordion and taking an occasional leap from the trapeze rig as an amateur flyer. The Riolo family of origin is from
