Who We Are:

The Southwest Texas State University Small Business Development Center (SBDC) works with existing and startup small companies to help them grow and compete in todayís global economy. SBDCs are available for small companies in every phase of the business life cycle, helping entrepreneurs make sound decisions and succeed. The resulting improvement in their business performance leads to job creation, investments, and economic growth for communities all across South Texas.

The SBDCís professional staff of counselors, trainers, and researchers provides comprehensive, confidential business counseling services that are at no cost to the client. The SBDC is funded in part by the U. S. Small Business Administration, Southwest Texas State University at San Marcos, and an extensive network of banks, chambers of commerce, and other economic development organizations. The Southwest Texas State University SBDC serves twelve counties within the South-West Texas Border SBDC which is located in San Antonio, which serves a 79-county service region, providing an accessible network of business development services, which are listed below:

This program provides research data and analyses and web-based information that enable SBDC clients to make sound business decisions.
