    What is Enactus?

Entrepreneurial Action Us, (Enactus) is a not-for-profit organization supported by individuals, foundations, and corporations whose mission is to build collegiate Enactus Teams who teach free enterprise in order to better individuals, communities, and countries. Enactus's purpose is accomplished through the Enactus Team's outreach projects where students and faculty involve the community in the free enterprise system, providing the students with an opportunity to teach others what they have learned.

    About Enactus

Enactus is an international non-profit organization that works with leaders in business and higher education to mobilize university students to make a difference in their communities while developing the skills to become socially responsible business leaders. Participating students form teams on their university campuses and apply business concepts to develop outreach projects that improve the quality of life and standard of living for people in need. An annual series of regional and national competitions provides a forum for teams to present the results of their projects, and to be evaluated by business leaders serving as judges. National champion teams advance to the prestigious Enactus World Cup. In addition to the community aspect of the program, Enactus’s leadership and career initiatives create meaningful opportunities for learning and exchange among the participants as well as the placement of students and alumni with companies in search of emerging talent.

History of Enactus at Texas State University – San Marcos

Several professors, including Dr. John McGhee, were initially involved with Enactus. In the spring of 1994, Dr. Jim Bell and the Texas State University – San Marcos Enactus Chapter attended their first Regional Competition. In the 1996-1997 academic year, Mrs. Vicki West became the second Enactus sponsor. In the 2001-2002 academic year, Dr. Jana Minifie helped Professor West to co-advise the team. Vicki West has advised the team since 1996-97 and served as the sole advisor. The following is a list of Texas State University – San Marcos Enactus competition results.
