(Dallas,
Texas – May 14,
2007) Over 150 SIFE teams from across the nation competed
May 6-8, 2007 at the SIFE USA National Exposition after winning in
their respective regional competitions.
SIFE teams are invited to showcase the effect of
their outreach projects at annual competitions judged by panels of
business leaders. Teams describe
the impact made in their communities about six educational topics: market economics, success skills,
entrepreneurship, financial literary, business ethics and team
sustainability.
Two
areas of judging take place. The
first area involves the judging of project content and a panel of
corporate judges read executive summaries describing those
projects. Texas State
continues to do well in this area, placing in the top twenty of five of
the six content areas. In the
final round, Texas Stated placed 2nd in both the HSBC
Financial Literacy Competition and the GE Consumer Products Program
Sustainability Competition. The
team was in the top three money-winning teams at the U.S.
national competition in the content area. In the audio-visual portion of the judging,
LaSierra University
won 1st place, University
of Arizona won 2nd
place, followed by Drury University and Heritage University.
