McCOY COLLEGE GRADUATE STUDENT FINANCIAL SUPPORT
Many opportunities exist for financial support for McCoy College of Business Administration graduate students.  The process of applying for these competitive scholarships and fellowships needs to be followed to ensure that an application will be accepted for consideration.  Following is a description of the various types of financial support that is available.
 SCHOLARSHIPS THROUGH THE TEXAS STATE GRADUATE COLLEGE
The Texas State Graduate College awards several types of scholarships to students each year.  Funding for these scholarships is provided by a wide variety of sources including individuals, corporations, foundations, and special interest organizations and projects.  Each scholarship carries with it a different set of eligibility requirements.  A description of all scholarships offered by the Graduate College including their eligibility requirements can be found on the Graduate College Website. It is important to note that several of these types of scholarships have their own application form and due date.  It is important that you become aware of the requirements for each.  Below is a description of several of these opportunities for financial support.
Opportunity – Graduate College Scholarships: The Graduate College awards several scholarships each year to qualified graduate students.  Graduate College Scholarships range from $1000 to $2000 for the academic year and are disbursed on a semester basis.  The deadline for applying for these scholarships is March 1 and all application material must be submitted to the Office of the Graduate College.  An application specifically for these scholarships can be downloaded here.
Opportunity – Graduate Scholars Program/Celebrity Classic Scholarships: Another financial support opportunity for graduate business students are the Graduate Scholars Program/Celebrity Classic Scholarships.  Awards for these scholarships range from $1000 to $2500 per year and are disbursed on a semester basis.  The deadline for applying for these scholarships is March 1 and all application material must be submitted to the Office of the Graduate College.  An application specifically for these scholarships can be downloaded here.
Opportunity – Roy F. and Joann Cole Mitte Foundation Scholarships: These scholarships are in the amount of $5000 per year and are disbursed on a semester basis.  The initial award is for new students, and they may be renewed annually for up to three years at the sole discretion of the Foundation.  The application form and all supporting material are due in the Office of the Graduate College by March 1.  The application form specifically for these scholarships can be downloaded here.
 FELLOWSHIPS/SCHOLARSHIPS THROUGH THE McCOY COLLEGE OF BUSINESS
The McCoy College of Business Administration provides several opportunities for financial support for its graduate students.  Some of these funding opportunities are described below.
Opportunity – McCoy Fellowships: The McCoy Foundation makes fellowships available to encourage students with intellectual/creative promise and leadership to complete a master's degree in business.  The fellowships may be awarded at either the “Distinction” level or the “Excellence” level depending upon the qualifications of the applicant.  The Fellowship of Distinction carries an award of $1500 per semester, and the Fellowship of Excellence carries an award of $2500 per semester.  Awards are disbursed on a semester by semester basis for the academic year.  The application form specifically for the McCoy Fellowship can be downloaded here.  The application form and all supporting documents must be submitted to the Dean’s Office of the McCoy College by March 1.
Opportunity – McCoy College Graduate Scholarships:  There are several pools of money that are set aside each year to provide scholarships for qualified graduate business students.  These monies are donated by individuals, foundations, corporations, and special interest organizations.  They are awarded on a competitive basis and a formal application process must be followed.  The required application form may be downloaded here. In order to be considered, the application and all supporting documentation must be completed and returned to the Dean’s Office by March 1 of each year. 
Opportunity – Miscellaneous Graduate Scholarships:  From time to time, other scholarship opportunities are announced from outside the University that normally target specific groups of students.  The deadline for submission of these scholarship application packets is normally very early February and each scholarship has its own application form.  If you are interested in scholarships, you should inquire about current scholarship opportunities in the Dean’s Office of the McCoy College.
In summary, all financial support opportunities that are available through the Texas State Graduate College are managed through that office. The application deadline for Business students is March 1 for the Graduate Scholars Program/Celebrity Classic Scholarships, the Roy F. and Joann Cole Mitte Foundation Scholarships, and the Graduate College Scholarships. Applications for all of these scholarships are available through the Graduate College Website.
All financial support opportunities that are available through the McCoy College, including McCoy Fellowships and other scholarships, are managed through the McCoy College.  Information and application forms for these opportunities are available on the McCoy College Website.  The application deadline is March 1.  Other scholarships are occasionally available and often have an early February application due date.  You should inquire within the Dean’s Office of the McCoy College for a current list of these scholarships.
