Hello Everyone!

The Financial Management Association at Texas State University is very excited about the upcoming year. We look forward to the scheduled events ahead of us and hope that all current members return in the fall. Our FMA chapter is also searching for new members who are ready to dedicate their time, enthusiasm, and talents towards their future careers. As a highly respected professional society in academia, we are here to play a supportive role in preparing you to graduate and help you find that perfect first job. Whether you are majoring in finance or another field of business, we strive to provide supplemental resources to those who are interested.

Last year, we represented Texas State University at the Finance Leaders' Conference in Chicago, by having the largest number of members from a single chapter in attendance. We were also designated with the honor of Superior Chapter. This year, we will be heading to Denver, Colorado for the 2008 FMA Finance Leaders' Conference. This trip will provide a great platform to network within the world of finance. There will be numerous financial professionals at the conference that will be speaking all about their careers, their companies, and the finance certifications suggested for their respective business.

Leading up to the conference, we will have several events throughout the year including bi-weekly guest speaker meetings, a "Welcome Back" Alumni Weekend, fundraising events, and numerous social gatherings.

I am very excited about the year to come, and look forward to getting to know everyone. The FMA will meet every other Thursday at 5pm in the McCoy Building, Room 233. I hope to see you all there!
