Only three chapters receive that honor and Collegiate Chapter of the Year is the only higher recognition with the Florida International University receiving that honor. The Texas State students received second place in the AMA Collegiate Case Competition in
their first year of competition. The client and sponsor was Kwik Trip, a convenience store in the Midwest. First place was awarded to the University of Pennsylvania. The other second place team was the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.

Texas State AMA partnered with Habitat for Humanity for Rita Recovery - The American Marketing Association (AMA) Foundation was pleased to provide support to the Texas State University-San Marcos
AMA chapter for costs related to the development of a marketing plan for the Beaumont Habitat for Humanity “Operation Home Delivery” Program. The AMA Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the AMA, is dedicated to building marketing capacity in nonprofit organization, fulfilling its mission to serve as a catalyst for making a difference through marketing. The Texas State chapter of AMA traveled to Beaumont, Texas on February 17 and 18 to help Habitat for Humanity build houses for hurricane victims. A grant was used to facilitate this project and enhance the efforts of the Habitat for Humanity “Operation Home Delivery” Program which was created in response to the recent hurricanes that devastated the gulf coast region. The Texas State AMA sent nine volunteers to make the trip to Beaumont. The student team worked on roofing, siding, and insulation for the three bedroom one bath house. The San Marcos habitat for humanity chapter is always looking for student volunteers.
For information about volunteering in San Marcos, please call (512) 754-8142, and for more information about the Operation Home Delivery project, please visit www.habitat.org, or contact the AMA Advisor, Dr. Gail Zank at gz10@txstate.edu.
