Texas State University-San Marcos Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) partners with Dell
The Texas State University-San Marcos Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) Team has partnered with Dell, Inc., on a global going green effort entitled, “Project: Green Earth.”  The purpose of the project was two-fold: 1. To raise awareness about the ethical treatment of the environment, specifically computer waste in landfills and 2. To hold a high-tech trash recycling day across campus on Tuesday, April 22, 2008.

1800 SIFE schools worldwide were given the opportunity to participate with Texas State SIFE in learning about how to preserve our beautiful planet.  The Texas State SIFE Team created a “Green Earth” quiz, green facts and tips for preserving the earth.  The schools answered the “Green Earth” questions and those with correct answers were entered into a drawing to win a brand new Dell, Inc., notebook computer for their team.

The two U.S. winners of a brand new Dell computer were:  University of Florida and
Itawamba Community College, with campuses in Fulton and Tupelo, Mississippi. The international winners will be announced on Tuesday, April 22nd,  in Sewell Park at the recycling event.
