Dr. Ruth Taylor was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Marketing Educators’ Association

New Officer and Board of Director appointments for the Marketing Educators’ Association were announced April 25, 2008 at the annual business luncheon which was held during the 32nd annual Marketing Educators’ Association Conference in Salt Lake City, UT.

The Marketing Educators’ Association is the premier international organization devoted to advancing the practice and scholarship of marketing education. The association holds an annual conference featuring competitive papers and special sessions on topics dealing directly with marketing pedagogy and education.

Professor Glen Brodowsky of California State University, San Marcos was named vice president for 2008-09. He will serve four years on the officer track, advancing to President-Elect, President, and Immediate Past-President over the next four years. Professor Brodowsky previously served as a Western Region Director.

Professor Brian Jorgensen of Westminster College was advanced from President to Immediate Past President; Barbara Gross of California State University, Northridge was advanced from President-Elect to President; and Robert Lupton of Central Washington University was advanced from Vice President to President-Elect. After serving for one year, Professor David Ackerman of California State University, Northridge was formally recognized as Director of Marketing for the Association. After serving a one-year term, Lori Braunstein of Central Washington University has agreed to serve a full three-year term.

Newly appointed to the Board of Directors for three-year terms are Professors Deborah Heisley of California State University, Northridge (Western Region); Elise “Pookie” Sautter of New Mexico State University, and Richard Lapidus of the University of Nevada Las Vegas (Southwest Region); Pola Gupta of Wright State University (Central Region); Gopala Ganesh of the University of North Texas, and Ruth Taylor of Texas State University, San Marcos (Southern Region); Barbara Ching of Los Angeles City College (Community College Director); and Gerald Abergos of International Academy of Management and Economics (International Director).
