Texas State welcomed The Honorable Rosalba Ojeda, Consul General of Mexico, to campus on Friday, November 14.  The Consul learned about the university and its programs to strengthen opportunities for exchanges and interactions between Mexico and the university.

As Mexico's highest-ranking official in Austin, San Marcos and the surrounding jurisdiction, Ojeda became head of the Consular office on May 1, 2007. Consular offices are charged with serving the needs of Mexican citizens living abroad and the broad issue of international trade.

Ojeda previously served as the Ambassador of Mexico to the Republic of Guatemala. From 2002 to 2004, she held the post of Ambassador of Mexico to the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. She was also a Permanent representative to the Association of Caribbean States, ACS, as well as Representative Observer to the Caribbean Community, CARICOM.
