The McCoy College of Business Administration is excited to announce the 2010 Business Leadership Week, February 8 - 12. The week is full of engaging speakers, workshops and McCoy College student organization events designed to engage the Texas State community in discussions relating to ethical, sustainable and whole-mind business leadership.

English-American entrepreneur and video game developer Richard Garriott will be the keynote speaker at 5:30 p.m., Monday, February 8, in the Alkek Teaching Theater (250). Richard Garriott, famous for creating fantasy computer games, is known most recently for taking a short-term mission on the International Space Station. He is chairman of the board of Space Adventures, a company that sends private citizens into Space. He will engage students on topics of creativity and personal exploration.

Diane is the founder and director of The Protocol School of Texas. Ron Kessler, founder of the Ron Kessler Group, brings 35 years of experience finding creative solutions for businesses, civic organizations and government agencies. A dynamic leadership coach, Ron will conduct a workshop on cultivating leadership skills. The week will end with a business leadership round table discussion. Dr. Konopaske, an associate professor of management, has lived and worked internationally and held management positions with a large nonprofit organization and a Fortune 500 multinational firm. He will lead the discussion on real world, ethical and whole-mind leadership.

Events sponsored by McCoy College student organizations include a panel of business executives that will share their viewpoints and experiences; Interview Express, an event designed to prepare students for job interviews; and Kohl’s on the Runway at Texas State, a fashion show and dress for success presentation.
