Members of the Texas State American Marketing Association attended the AMA International Collegiate Conference in New Orleans, Louisiana on March 29th-31st. The American Marketing Association is one of the largest professional associations for marketers and has 38,000 members worldwide in every area of marketing. There are over 350 student AMA chapters from schools in the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico.
The Texas State chapter received many accolades during the conference. Based on submitted chapter plan and annual report, Texas State was named Superior Chapter, which places them in the top four chapters internationally. Among Superior Chapter recipients was Penn State University and University of California- Long Beach. The only chapter receiving higher honors was the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, which was named Top Chapter.
The Texas State Case Competition team was awarded third place in their second year of competition at the conference. The client was the New Orleans Convention & Visitors Bureau, and the project was to create an integrated marketing communication aimed at bringing tourism back to the city of New Orleans. First place was awarded to the University of Pennsylvania.

The Texas State chapter was also recognized for receiving a $1000 grant from the American Marketing Association Foundation to aide in a project working with Bobcat Build, the largest community service project in San Marcos. |
